Happy New Year!!! [Added January, 05, 2009]

Let's hope for better things than predicted this year.  The desperately sad news about retailers large and small (yes, a lot of them sold tat, but that isn't the fault of the majority of people who work for them), banks and the state of things in general is making it hard to be optimistic.  However, we here at lfd towers are determined to see the positive.

As far as food is concerned, there seems to be separate schools of thought with the tough financial climate.  Either people are going to back to an earlier way of eating, with thrift being a priority, or they are just going to go to the supermarket and buy the cheapest economy brands.

With a fickle UK press, who like nothing better than extremes, it seems that we are all going to be either be bagging an allotment and growing our own (unlikely, as we're all pushed for time), or buying the worst possible rubbish from the cheapest supplier. We can't help but feel that the key to 2009 is going to be moderation in all things.

Support your community, buy local, eat local.  Happy New Year!
